Senior State Advocate – National Prosecuting Authority (DPP: Bloemfontein)

About the Role:
The National Prosecuting Authority seeks an experienced legal professional to manage criminal proceedings and uphold constitutional mandates under Section 179(2).
Key Requirements:
- LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification
- Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification experience in civil/criminal litigation
- Right of appearance under Section 25(2) of NPA Act 32/1998
- Proven track record in independent case management
- 5+ years legal practice experience (advantageous)
Core Responsibilities:
- Prosecute criminal cases from investigation to trial
- Prepare legal documents: charge sheets, indictments, motions
- Conduct court proceedings including witness examination
- Review case dockets and evidence collection
- Mentor junior legal staff
- Address legal representations and appeals
