Senior State Accountant: Financial Accounting (2 Positions)

Position Overview:

We seek qualified professionals to implement and supervise financial accounting systems in compliance with legislation, regulations, and departmental policies. Successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining fiscal integrity within government operations.

Essential Requirements:

• 3-year National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Accounting/Economics (or equivalent)
• 1+ years experience in financial accounting environments

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage payments and revenue collection systems
• Prepare financial statements and reports
• Oversee petty cash management
• Supervise journal management processes
• Lead team performance management

Required Competencies:

Essential Knowledge:

• Public sector financial regulations (PFMA, Treasury Regulations)
• Accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Budget management frameworks

Key Skills:

• Advanced analytical and strategic thinking
• Effective communication (written/verbal)
• Team leadership and conflict resolution
• Time management under pressure

Remuneration:

R397,116 – R467,790 per annum (Salary Level 8)
