Senior State Accountant: Financial Accounting (2 Positions)

Position Overview:
We seek qualified professionals to implement and supervise financial accounting systems in compliance with legislation, regulations, and departmental policies. Successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining fiscal integrity within government operations.
Essential Requirements:
- 3-year National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Accounting/Economics (or equivalent)
- 1+ years experience in financial accounting environments
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage payments and revenue collection systems
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Oversee petty cash management
- Supervise journal management processes
- Lead team performance management
Required Competencies:
Essential Knowledge:
- Public sector financial regulations (PFMA, Treasury Regulations)
- Accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Budget management frameworks
Key Skills:
- Advanced analytical and strategic thinking
- Effective communication (written/verbal)
- Team leadership and conflict resolution
- Time management under pressure
Remuneration:
R397,116 – R467,790 per annum (Salary Level 8)
