Senior Sales Support Assistant

Job Purpose

The role involves sharing product information, delivering excellent customer service to travel trade and airline customers, and preparing relevant reports. This helps the team meet targets and achieve annual business goals.

  • You must be able to live and work in South Africa.
  • Visit clients with the sales team to share details on new products and answer questions about them.
  • Handle customer queries promptly and provide feedback. Highlight any issues to the sales team for correction.
  • Build direct relationships with key people in agencies and accounts. Network to promote and offer airline services.
  • Work with the sales team to carry out marketing and sales plans. Help organize trade events.
  • Share product details using approved methods, including information on frequent flyer programs, to build brand loyalty.
  • Gather and analyze market and competitor information from various sources. Report findings to the sales team.
  • Coordinate with dnata and airline managers for pricing approvals, group bookings, fares, and system updates. Arrange training and system access.
  • Prepare timely reports and analysis to support the department’s business plan.
  • Handle administrative tasks to support the team.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience:

  • 3+ years in customer service or customer relations
  • Preferred: Experience in an airline or travel agency

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic fares and ticketing qualification from a recognized institute or airline
  • Understanding of fare construction and ticketing, including Computerized Reservation Systems (CRS) like MARS, Galileo, or Sabre
  • Knowledge of MS Office packages
  • Knowledge of world geography
