Senior Professional Officer (Electrical Engineering)

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng/B.Sc Eng/B Tech)
Experience Required: 5-8 years post-qualification experience
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Registration: ECSA Pr Eng/Pr Eng Tech certification required

Core Requirements:

• Valid Code B/EB driver’s license
• Proven expertise in electrical protection systems
• Strong background in power system modeling and relay settings
• Advanced computer literacy skills
• Effective communication capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain quality control systems for protection/automation schemes
• Investigate system performance and electrical network events
• Calculate and implement operational relay settings
• Conduct fault level analysis for medium/high voltage systems
• Analyze impacts of embedded generation on power networks
• Configure protective relay functions and control systems
• Provide technical support and staff mentorship programs
