Senior Practitioner: Threat and Risk Assessment

Education: National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Security Risk Management or related field (NQF6/7)

About the SIU:

We are an independent statutory body established to investigate corruption, malpractice, and maladministration within South African state institutions.

Role Purpose:

Identify, analyze, and mitigate operational risks to protect SIU assets, personnel, and information. Lead threat response initiatives and collaborate with national security agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct threat intelligence gathering and risk analysis
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead security awareness training programs
  • Manage incident response and forensic investigations
  • Coordinate with SAPS, NPA, and defense intelligence units
  • Supervise risk assessment team operations

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • PSIRA Grade A certification
  • 3 years’ security experience including team leadership
  • Proficiency in security management systems
  • SSA Security Management training (advantageous)
