Senior Engineering Technologist: Land Surveying

About Us:

Named after South Africa’s beloved statesman Nelson Mandela, our municipality serves the Eastern Cape region containing the Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport.

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
  • Valid registration as Survey Technician
  • 2-4 years’ post-registration practical experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software and office applications
  • Valid Code EB driver’s license

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Cadastral surveys adhering to Surveys Act regulations
  • Perform technical surveys including photo control mapping and dam deformation analysis
  • Convert Town Planning layouts into compliant General Plans
  • Supervise team operations and ensure OHS Act compliance
  • Generate precise survey coordinates for construction projects

Leadership Duties:

  • Mentor junior staff on operational procedures
  • Resolve workplace conflicts and performance issues
  • Implement safety protocols across all field activities
