Job Description
AECOM is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer – General Civils.
Here is what you will do:
- Design and plan civil engineering infrastructure, such as earthworks, grading, roads, stormwater, sewer, and water, across various market sectors.
- Handle design development, reviews, coordination, and management of resources. This may include occasional site supervision, and preparing or reviewing deliverables like design calculations, reports, drawings, bills of quantities, technical specifications, and project documents.
- Guide junior engineers and technical staff, and complete tasks independently to deliver designs and projects.
- Coordinate, manage, or lead small to mid-sized teams on projects, including international ones.
- Support project execution in line with AECOM’s Quality Management System.
- Work on specific parts of larger assignments as an experienced engineer.
- Provide specialized technical input for studies and designs in infrastructure. Identify and address any issues in results.
- Develop designs by collecting, analyzing, and processing engineering data using software and standard procedures.
- Follow or create design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
- Understand construction costs related to your design areas.
- Collect and analyze engineering data using clear procedures.
- Prepare technical specifications. Work within budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with authorities for approvals.
- Solve problems using your knowledge, new ideas, or adapted standard methods.
- Contribute to your field by suggesting improvements and finding solutions where none exist before.
- Review design calculations, BIM models, and drawings for quality, following health, safety, and company standards.
- Develop cost estimates and effort/man-hour projections for projects. Keep your technical skills up to date.
- Help build and maintain relationships with clients, both internal and external.
- Attend client meetings to gather information, discuss needs, and explain your work.
- Assist in preparing bids and proposals. Present solutions to clients professionally and competently.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Solid experience designing civil infrastructure elements like earthworks, grading, roads, stormwater, sewer, and water. This should be in a multi-disciplinary environment, across all project stages.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Good knowledge of ProjectWise and BIM360.
- Skills in other software like 12D Model or MicroStation are a plus.
- Experience on international projects, with different standards and guidelines, and across time zones is advantageous.
- Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects using BIM.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently or in a team as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering.
- 8+ years of relevant experience after qualification.
- Professionally registered with ECSA.
