Job Purpose

To monitor the implementation of integrated information management and disaster emergency communication systems.

Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6) in Information Communication Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems, as recognized by SAQA
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience as a Disaster Management Information Communication Officer or Information Technology and Communication Technician
  • A valid driver’s license

Duties

  • Maintain disaster management reporting systems
  • Analyze the provision of early warnings on detected disaster hazards
  • Maintain Provincial Disaster Information Resources
  • Review the implementation of disaster response and recovery operations plans
  • Maintain the implementation of municipal disaster management information systems
