Senior DevOps (Data) Position

Organization: City of Cape Town (Municipal Government)

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years DevOps experience
  • Expertise in container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Advanced CI/CD pipeline implementation skills
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data infrastructure solutions
  • Maintain reliable data processing systems for analytics/AI applications
  • Develop and enforce DevOps best practices and governance frameworks
  • Ensure system reliability and performance through automation
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation
  • Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies and data trends
