Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/NQF Level 4 qualification PLUS National Diploma in Legal Interpreting (or equivalent language qualification), with 3+ years court interpreting experience OR
- High School Diploma with 10+ years practical court interpreting experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Language proficiency requirements per location:
- Kempton Park: English, Afrikaans, IsiZulu, Sesotho
- Meyerton: English, Sesotho, IsiZulu
- Oberholzer: English, Afrikaans, Setswana/IsiXhosa/IsiZulu
- Protea: English, Afrikaans, IsiXhosa
- Durban: IsiXhosa, IsiZulu
Key Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services during court proceedings
- Translate legal documents and evidence materials
- Develop specialized legal terminology databases
- Assist in reconstructing official court records
- Supervise junior interpreting staff
- Perform administrative duties including ICMS system updates
