Requirements
- LLB degree or equivalent 4-year legal qualification
- Admitted Attorney with active practice certificate
- Minimum 4 years’ litigation experience post-qualification
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- Legal office management systems
- Government compliance frameworks
- South African Constitution
- Valid driver’s license (essential)
- Preferred Skills: Conveyancing/Notary qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Represent state interests in superior courts (High Court, Labour Court, Tax Tribunals)
- Draft legal documents and provide advisory opinions
- Manage complex cases including:
- Civil/commercial litigation
- Insolvency proceedings
- Land claims disputes
- Supervise legal support staff and candidate attorneys
- Oversee trust accounting procedures
