Senior Admin Officer: ERP Basis
The Gauteng Department of e-Government plays a key role in rolling out a network infrastructure that connects government facilities, including schools, hospitals, offices, and economic zones. It aims to create an enabling platform and support services, help Gauteng City Region entities deliver e-Government services, and establish e-Government governance structures.

Requirements
A qualification in Information Technology at NQF level 6 (National Diploma). 2-3 years’ experience in BASIS administration and Linux Server Operating System. Required training: SAP BASIS academy certification with SAP Database administration in MSSQL or HANA.

Duties
- Conduct ERP Basis System monitoring and reporting: Check critical transactions and report on issues as per SAP best practices. Report on backups and system uptime. Help create required documentation. Perform performance testing and validate results through reporting. Interpret system performance statistics and make adjustments to maximize performance.
- Provide administrative functions on the SAP and Database system: Conduct upgrades, patching, and administration of SAP and DB systems. Run periodic functions, cleanups, and tasks. Participate in designing and developing system changes. Assist in testing, modifying, and documenting system design.
- Provide a supportive role in all projects: Help determine and develop functional system specifications, hardware, and software specifications. Assist in setting up, configuring, and administering software to enable functional teams to replicate business processes for projects. Help the project team develop migration programs from old to new system platforms and upgrades.
- Participate in ERP configuration expert consultations: Provide user training after implementing system solutions. Join the project team in defining and modeling business processes. Take part in designing system solutions and strategies to meet customer department requirements. Contribute to ERP configuration, testing, and development.
- Provide systems support: Support the database and operating system of the SAP server. Handle patching and administration of the database. Manage calls and incidents for first-level technical support on SAP application systems. Support multiple SAP products currently in use and any new products installed.
