Senior Accountant: Budget & Reporting
Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local Municipality | KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Remuneration: R496,455.05 per annum + municipal benefits
Minimum Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- National Diploma/BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
- 4 years’ experience in budget/reporting (including 2 years supervisory experience)
- Proficiency in GRAP and Municipal Finance Management Act
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver’s license
- Fluency in English and isiZulu
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead municipal budget preparation and adjustment processes
- Develop MFMA-compliant financial reports and statements
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets
- Prepare quarterly/annual financial reports for stakeholders
- Supervise bank account reconciliations
- Ensure GRAP compliance in financial reporting
- Analyze financial performance indicators
- Manage budget implementation processes
