Senior Accountant: Budget & Reporting

Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local Municipality | KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Remuneration: R496,455.05 per annum + municipal benefits

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • National Diploma/BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • 4 years’ experience in budget/reporting (including 2 years supervisory experience)
  • Proficiency in GRAP and Municipal Finance Management Act
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fluency in English and isiZulu

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead municipal budget preparation and adjustment processes
  • Develop MFMA-compliant financial reports and statements
  • Monitor expenditure against approved budgets
  • Prepare quarterly/annual financial reports for stakeholders
  • Supervise bank account reconciliations
  • Ensure GRAP compliance in financial reporting
  • Analyze financial performance indicators
  • Manage budget implementation processes
