Are you ready to play a pivotal role in a community-oriented service? The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites applications for the position of Communication Coordinator Official (Captain) at our Gauteng office in Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Communication Coordinator, your primary functions will include:

  • Managing Shooting Requests: Assist with the management of shooting requests from production companies.
  • Liaising with Production Companies: Maintain communication regarding the progress and outcomes of requests.
  • Coordinating Shooting Schedules: Ensure members involved in shoots are informed of the shooting schedule.
  • Maintaining Records: Keep and maintain a register of requests versus actual shoots.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Ensure adherence to SAPS standards and procedures during shoots.
  • Monitoring Television Programmes: Monitor TV programs that feature SAPS in their storylines.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with the management of administrative duties and office work.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education:
    • A three (3) year Diploma or Degree (accredited by SAQA on NQF level 6 or higher) in Film and TV Production, Journalism, Media Studies, Communication Science, Digital Media, Information Stream-Screen Production, or Motion Art.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related field.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in at least two official languages, including English.
  • Driver’s License: A valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen with no prior criminal or departmental convictions.
  • Physical Appearance: No visible tattoos when wearing the uniform.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Willingness to work extended hours and manage high-pressure situations.

Additional Post Requirements:

  • Relevant courses in the field of the post will be advantageous.
