Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Kuruman store is looking for a Retail Store Assistant. In this role, you will help manage the store by handling operational and administrative tasks according to company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP
  • Retail experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Report customer complaints and compliments to management
  • Build professional relationships with customers
  • Resolve customer stock queries
  • Communicate effectively with customers for feedback
  • Assist customers with inquiries and direct them to the right departments
  • Meet the company’s customer turnover per hour targets
  • Handle shorts and overs at the point of sale, including floats
  • Manage refunds and returns
  • Process back shopping and returned goods correctly
  • Check deliveries and invoices for accuracy
  • Help the Receiving Manager with Distribution Centre claims
  • Control high-risk stock
  • Prepare daily run reconciliations
  • Order and receive branch change to support cashiers
  • Maintain good communication with relevant teams
  • Keep accurate records for floats, petty cash, and cash on hand
