About the Role

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service in the store, meeting or exceeding sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals. This role helps position PUMA Sports SA as the fastest sports brand in the world by upholding brand values and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed individual sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals.
  • Deliver high standards of customer experience aligned with PUMA Brand Values.
  • Show strong product knowledge to support customer decisions.
  • Identify and communicate merchandise opportunities to Store Management.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system.
  • Handle all forms of tender with integrity and precision.
  • Apply discounts and promotions correctly.
  • Process incoming and outgoing merchandise efficiently.
  • Maintain store housekeeping and visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Ensure store presentation meets or exceeds brand standards.
  • Maintain store facilities and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Participate in Loss Prevention training and awareness initiatives.
  • Ensure operational compliance and a safe shopping environment.
  • Report safety or compliance concerns to Store Management immediately.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and operational competencies.
  • Complete required domestic and global training programs.
  • Participate in new store openings and/or closings (travel may be required).
  • Show continuous improvement and commitment to professional development.

Work Schedule

Flexibility to work non‑traditional hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Matric qualification.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a customer‑focused retail environment (apparel/footwear preferred).
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex customer issues effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy and numerical proficiency.
