Position: Researcher: Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation

Key Details

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis

  • Design and manage research projects to address policy questions
  • Collect/verify data from credible sources and interpret findings
  • Prepare briefing documents for oversight visits and parliamentary projects

Strategic Support

  • Contribute to committee business planning processes
  • Identify key sector issues requiring parliamentary attention
  • Participate in conceptualizing sectoral parliaments

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track policy/legislative developments nationally and internationally
  • Prepare reports for regional parliamentary forums (SADC-PF, PAP, IPU)
  • Implement quality control standards for research outputs

Requirements

  • Honours Degree (NQF 8) in Public Administration/Political Science/Developmental Studies
  • Minimum 3 years’ governance sector research experience
  • Understanding of public sector legislative frameworks
  • Monitoring & evaluation expertise (advantageous)
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
