Position Details:

    – Honors Degree (NQF 8) in Social Sciences/Gender Studies/related field
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in gender-focused research
  • Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
  • Department: Research & Policy Development

Key Responsibilities:

Research Operations:

  • Design and execute research projects addressing gender equality issues
  • Analyze policy frameworks and legislative documents
  • Prepare briefing materials for parliamentary committees

Strategic Support:

  • Contribute to development of oversight programs
  • Identify emerging gender policy priorities
  • Support international parliamentary engagements

Knowledge Management:

  • Monitor national gender policy implementation
  • Maintain current sector knowledge through continuous learning
  • Develop information resources for MPs and committees

Candidate Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of parliamentary processes
  • Expertise in gender policy analysis
  • Proven ability to translate research into policy recommendations
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • Experience working with multi-stakeholder environments
