About the Role

Join Parliament’s research team to support legislative processes and policy development in Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research Execution:
    • Design and manage research projects to answer policy-related questions
    • Collect and analyze data from verified sources
    • Prepare briefing documents for oversight visits and international engagements
  • Strategic Support:
    • Participate in committee planning processes
    • Identify key sector issues requiring parliamentary attention
    • Develop concept papers for parliamentary projects
  • Sector Expertise:
    • Monitor policy developments in local/provincial governance
    • Maintain current knowledge of intergovernmental relations frameworks
    • Analyze legislation and policy implementation

Requirements

  • Honors Degree in relevant field (essential)
  • 3+ years’ applied research experience in governance/policy
  • Expertise in local government laws and cooperative governance systems
  • Strong understanding of parliamentary oversight processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
