About the Role
Join Parliament’s research team to support legislative processes and policy development in Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Research Execution:
- Design and manage research projects to answer policy-related questions
- Collect and analyze data from verified sources
- Prepare briefing documents for oversight visits and international engagements
- Strategic Support:
- Participate in committee planning processes
- Identify key sector issues requiring parliamentary attention
- Develop concept papers for parliamentary projects
- Sector Expertise:
- Monitor policy developments in local/provincial governance
- Maintain current knowledge of intergovernmental relations frameworks
- Analyze legislation and policy implementation
Requirements
- Honors Degree in relevant field (essential)
- 3+ years’ applied research experience in governance/policy
- Expertise in local government laws and cooperative governance systems
- Strong understanding of parliamentary oversight processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
