Position: Research Technician – Postharvest Management & Food Processing Technology
Location: Roodeplaat, Gauteng
Employment Type: Contract
Required Qualifications: National Diploma/BSc in Food Science, Food Technology, Biochemistry or related field
Experience Level: Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute technical project activities in postharvest management and agro-processing
- Develop processing systems for medicinal plants, industrial crops, and vegetables
- Conduct food analysis, quality control, and product development
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
- Manage laboratory equipment and ensure resource optimization
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
Essential Requirements:
- National Diploma or BSc in relevant field
- Knowledge of food processing systems and safety standards
- Experience in product development (advantageous)
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
