Position Overview
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Qualification: BSc Honours in Plant Biotechnology or related field
Requirements: Valid 08/EB driver’s license
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maize transformation experiments and gene editing for virus resistance
- Design and test CRISPR/Cas9 vector systems
- Analyze mutant plants using molecular techniques (PCR, sequencing)
- Conduct plant-virus interaction studies through protein assays
- Manage plant inoculation trials and greenhouse maintenance
- Provide research support through data management and documentation
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in cloning and tissue culture techniques
- Familiarity with Agrobacterium-mediated transformation (advantageous)
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Proficiency in digital record-keeping systems
- Effective communication skills
