Position Details
- Contract Type: Fixed Term (3 Years)
- Location: Nelspruit, Mpumalanga
- Field: Agriculture/Research
- Experience: 2+ Years
- Qualification: National Diploma in Horticulture/Agriculture/Food Science or related field
Key Responsibilities
- Manage field operations for indigenous fruit/herb trials including planting, harvesting, and post-harvest processes
- Prepare plant materials for lab analysis and agro-processing (drying, juicing, oil extraction)
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment while documenting results accurately
- Develop technical reports and present findings to project leaders
- Train junior staff and participate in community outreach programs
- Enforce strict compliance with safety and environmental protocols
Candidate Requirements
- Practical experience in crop production or agro-processing
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and field research techniques
- Knowledge of indigenous crops and traditional processing methods (advantageous)
- Physical capability for sustained fieldwork in varying conditions
