Position Details
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (Three Years)
Locations:
- Loskop Research Station, Groblersdal
- Roodeplaat, Pretoria
Key Responsibilities
- Support plant breeding operations and sample processing
- Manage seed harvesting, cleaning, and storage processes
- Assist with crop maintenance including planting, weeding, and irrigation
- Maintain greenhouse environments and growth media preparation
- Supervise seasonal workers and equipment allocation
- Prepare regular progress reports for supervisors
Position Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Option 1: Grade 12 certificate + 3 years crop management experience
- Option 2: Grade 10 certificate + 8 years crop management experience
Essential Skills:
- Practical experience with vegetable cultivation techniques
- Greenhouse management and sanitation expertise
- Valid driver’s license (Code 08/B)
Preferential Skills:
Experience with pesticide application and farm machinery operation
