Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- A relevant qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
- Knowledge of how a Forensic Medicine Department works, plus a commitment to ongoing learning and skill improvement.
- Ability to follow instructions from consultants, stick to divisional protocols, and meet safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills suitable for a Registrar in Forensic Pathology Services.
- Participate in academic activities, such as case presentations, conferences, research, and other divisional events.
- Clear and discreet communication skills, both in person and in writing.
- Work well in a team at all levels.
- Be willing to travel to other Forensic Pathology Service facilities if needed to support service delivery.
- Consult with the responsible consultant when unsure about a case or issue.
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s license is required.
- The successful candidate must participate in a system of remunerated commuted overtime and provide proof of after-hours work.
- Registrars must register as postgraduate students with Stellenbosch University, as per the discipline’s requirements.
- Preference will be given to South African citizens or permanent residents.

Salary: R1,001,349 to R1,046,763 per annum. A portion of the package can be structured based on individual needs.
