Five-Year Fixed-Term Contract (Roodeplaat)
Key Details
- Contract Type: Fixed-Term (5 years)
- Education Requirement: PhD in Plant Pathology/Botany/Microbiology
- Experience Needed: 3+ years in seed health research
- Location: Roodeplaat, Gauteng
- Department: Agriculture Research & Development
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage seed quality research projects from design to implementation
- Conduct data analysis and deliver scientific reports aligned with ARC standards
- Secure external funding and identify new research opportunities
- Optimize resource management (lab equipment, personnel, budgets)
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at industry events
- Provide technical support for seed diagnostics and advisory services
Essential Qualifications
- PhD in relevant scientific discipline
- Proven experience in seed health testing and laboratory management
- Minimum 2 peer-reviewed publications in related field
- Working knowledge of vegetable seed production systems (advantageous)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
