Researcher: Seed Health
Five-Year Fixed-Term Contract (Roodeplaat)

Key Details

  • Education Requirement: PhD in Plant Pathology/Botany/Microbiology
  • Experience Needed: 3+ years in seed health research
  • Location: Roodeplaat, Gauteng

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage seed quality research projects from design to implementation
  • Conduct data analysis and deliver scientific reports aligned with ARC standards
  • Secure external funding and identify new research opportunities
  • Optimize resource management (lab equipment, personnel, budgets)
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at industry events
  • Provide technical support for seed diagnostics and advisory services

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in relevant scientific discipline
  • Proven experience in seed health testing and laboratory management
  • Minimum 2 peer-reviewed publications in related field
  • Working knowledge of vegetable seed production systems (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
