Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure Planning) Jobs

Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate, an NQF Level 7 qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent as recognized by SAQA, plus three years of post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Compulsory registration as a Professional Quantity Surveyor with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Computer literacy.

Duties:

• Develop and maintain planning and cost norms and standards based on Provincial Health Facilities Guidelines. Keep an updated library of these norms.
• Monitor infrastructure projects by implementing agents to ensure they follow approved planning and cost norms.
• Promote technical and quality strategies for projects.
• Review cost estimates and determinations for projects.
• Provide quantity surveying inputs to infrastructure policies, procedures, and criteria for capital expenditure, minor capital, and maintenance projects.
• Develop commissioning plans from a quantity surveying viewpoint.
• Contribute to project briefing documents and the initial Project Execution Plan from a quantity surveying perspective.
• Create cash flow projections and costing models.
• Offer inputs to annual budgets, medium-term budgets, and adjustment budgets for the Infrastructure Delivery Directorate.
• Contribute to the User Asset Management Plan and Infrastructure Programme Management Plan from a quantity surveying angle.
• Provide inputs to procurement strategies.
• Update the department’s infrastructure planning framework based on research, new technology, and institutional changes.
