About the Role
The Quality Technologist Intern will support the process quality team in primary explosive manufacturing. You will learn how to integrate quality into product development and help improve quality execution in operations. You will use chemical and engineering knowledge to ensure precise processes, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review design specifications and drawings for manufacturability, testability, and quality compliance.
- Help develop, document, and validate robust Quality Control Plans for new products and components.
- Assist in compiling data and performing preliminary technical risk assessments (e.g., FMEA) for quality gate reviews.
- Apply chemical and engineering knowledge to support root‑cause analysis of process deviations and non‑conformances.
- Collect, analyze, and visualize critical process data (SPC) for monitoring and control.
- Maintain and update essential quality documentation (e.g., PMI, Control Plans) to reflect best practices.
- Support preparation and coordination of quality‑related reviews, audits, and client engagements.
- Adhere to all applicable legislation and Rheinmetall Denel Munitions policies, ensuring compliance with ISO standards for SHE, Quality, Environment, and Energy.
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong academic foundation in chemical processes, quality principles, and data analysis.
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with statistical software (Minitab) is advantageous.
- Valid Code 8/10 driver’s licence is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
