Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (NQF9) in Public Administration/Local Government/Economics (MBA advantageous)
  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license with own vehicle
  • 10+ years senior management experience in medium/large organizations
  • Proven experience in local government sector operations
  • Strong stakeholder management and advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop provincial operational strategies aligned with SALGA’s national objectives
  • Oversee integrated service delivery across multidisciplinary teams

Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to municipal governance frameworks
  • Implement risk management protocols across provincial operations

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Represent SALGA in provincial intergovernmental forums
  • Maintain relationships with municipal leadership and provincial stakeholders

Performance Management:

  • Monitor provincial service delivery outcomes
  • Prepare operational reports for executive review
