Minimum Requirements:
- Must have completed Matric.
- Degree in Agriculture (BSc Agric/B Agric/Agribusiness/Economics) with at least three to four (3-4) years’ experience in project management or project administration, preferably in government or a state-owned enterprise in the agricultural sector.
- Project Management qualification (Desirable).
- More than 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing agricultural or production business plans for various agricultural commodities.
- At least 4 years of project management skills and experience in implementing agri-business projects.
- Knowledge and experience in helping develop agri-business models for emerging farmer projects.
Experience in carrying out management-approved business plans for assigned projects, including:
- Ensuring business plans are fully developed.
- Agreeing on and sticking to contracts.
- Following change control procedures for major program changes.
- Maintaining effective communication within and outside the team.
- Planning and managing approved team resources and budgets properly.
Experience in project management and reporting:
- Monitoring the sector’s situation and preparing detailed reports with recommendations for management.
- Implementing technical project aspects to meet goals within agreed timelines.
- Analyzing needs in detail and designing project interventions to address them and build local capacities.
- Participating in project evaluations and analyzing results to measure impact and resource use.
Experience in administration and financial management:
- Managing detailed budgets to achieve activity outputs and objectives.
- Tracking expenditure and correcting variances.
- Knowledge of relevant legal requirements.
- A valid driver’s license.

Key Performance Areas:
- Assessing applications and applicants.
- Developing commodity approaches, models, and partnerships for timely and effective agricultural support.
- Drafting business plans and budgets for cluster projects to attract technical and financial resources from government and the private sector.
- Drafting terms of reference and specifications for required agricultural technical services on farms.
- Managing and monitoring service providers for agriculture and infrastructure development.
- Monitoring and implementing project-level agreements with partners and applicants.
- Helping facilitate partnerships and support services at the project level.
- Managing social facilitation support to train beneficiaries on commodity enterprises.
- Managing prioritized projects for a financial year to deliver inputs and support services on time.
- Coordinating and managing projects.
- Managing a field team implementing a project.
- Liaising with officials from organizations and government departments.
- Managing day-to-day relationships with various stakeholders.
- Coordinating, delivering, and reporting on milestones and activities, as well as monitoring and evaluating projects.
- Facilitating, promoting, and supporting sustainable agricultural projects.
- Engaging and assisting local community groups to participate in development.
- Providing advice, expertise, and support when needed.
- Performing ad hoc duties as required by the supervisor.
- Facilitating, formalizing, and managing service agreements with commodity sectors.
- Facilitating and processing payments to service providers.
- Participating in municipality strategic development planning and other stakeholder forums.
