Project Officer: Repairs and Maintenance

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus a Diploma (NQF level 6) in a Built Environment field such as Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building, and a Project Management Certificate or Degree in Administration/Management.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of local government policies and procedures is an advantage.
  • Understanding of local government policies and procedures is a plus.

Primary Function

  • Put the project plan into action based on the approved business case. Manage projects to meet goals and objectives within set timeframes and budgets. Use resources well to reach agreed performance levels.

Key Performance Areas

  • Develop and share business plans and procedures with stakeholders. Implement them to meet the strategic goals of the Facilities Management Unit.
  • Act professionally and ethically in all duties.

Leading Competencies

  • Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, and Internet).
  • Strong English communication.
  • Grasp of wider business matters.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge of CoJ policies, laws, and acts that govern the municipality is an advantage.
  • Customer service and delivery management (Batho Pele principles), ethics, health values, and CoJ values.
  • Integrity and professionalism.
