Job Purpose:

The role provides centralized project management services across all professional and technical areas within the eThekwini Transport Authority.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Deliver professional services within operational and legal guidelines.
  • Take part in major strategic projects.
  • Manage the unit’s learnership program.
  • Coordinate occupational health and safety needs across the unit.
  • Monitor and improve administrative business management continuously.
  • Conduct cost-effectiveness studies with the Head of eThekwini Transport Authority and Deputy Heads.
  • Develop a performance management system for the eThekwini Transport Authority.
  • Provide support for service improvements to users of the eThekwini Transport Authority.
  • Handle unit processes.
  • Liaise with other government members on special projects and protocol issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering (NQF Level 7) in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 6 years of relevant experience, including 5 years post-registration.
  • Computer literacy.
