Job Purpose
To support Project Managers by coordinating tasks based on agreed project plans. This includes preparing and maintaining project documents, handling administrative correspondence, and managing Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) processes for project budgets and expenses. The goal is to meet customer expectations.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification and Experience Required
- National Diploma or Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in Management or Information Technology, plus 2-3 years in a project management environment (including 1-2 years at knowledge worker level).
Alternative Qualification
- Senior Certificate (NQF 4), plus 5 years in project administration or coordination (including 1-2 years at knowledge worker level).

- Verify correspondence and information from internal and external sources, ensuring it gets proper attention.
- Monitor progress, issues, and risks affecting deliverables, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate the implementation of plans and initiatives in your area.
- Prepare records of project activities and ensure timely processing and delivery of materials.
- Follow Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies to ensure inputs and deliverables are on time and meet standards.
- Create short-term delivery plans and schedule activities to meet agreed standards and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders for integrated service delivery.
- Assist in implementing projects and delivering all required documentation.
- Help develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Save all project information correctly in the electronic project management system, following methodology.
- Implement process changes and provide guidelines and support for new requirements.
- Use knowledge and judgment to apply policies and make decisions.
- Follow relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Gather information and prepare reports with recommendations.
- Identify trends and risks using methods, systems, and procedures.
- Communicate interpretations and judgments clearly.
