Professional Officer – Water & Sanitation

Position Overview:

The City of Cape Town seeks a qualified candidate to manage infrastructure projects in our Water and Sanitation Department. This role requires technical expertise and project coordination skills.

Requirements:

  • B Tech in Civil Engineering (Essential)
  • Active registration as Candidate Engineering Technologist
  • 3-5 years’ experience in water/sanitation projects
  • Valid Code B driver’s license (Own transport preferred)
  • Computer proficiency
  • Physical fitness for site work
  • Flexibility for after-hours work when required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement water/sanitation infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate on design concepts and project briefs
  • Analyze technical data and conduct research
  • Manage project budgets and expenditure tracking
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams
  • Oversee construction supervision and project handovers
