Professional Nurse General Grade 1-3 (5 Months Contract) – Amathole District Jobs

Requirements

• Basic R425 qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Nursing or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Proof of current registration is required.
• Grade 1: No experience required.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years appropriate experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years appropriate experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.

Duties

• Carry out duties and functions effectively within the rules of relevant laws.
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients.
• Monitor patient activities and care.
• Perform standard nursing procedures according to policies and guidelines.
• Use a team-based approach to support overall patient care.
• Keep up clinical skills by applying nursing care principles.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
• Ensure patient satisfaction through quality service, innovation, and professional care, following Batho Pele principles and patient rights.
• Use resources efficiently and effectively.
• Deliver quality nursing care and manage the unit when the Operational Manager is absent.
• Assess staff performance using set standards.
• Motivate, guide, and mentor staff members.
• Manage and control scheduled drugs.
• Work day and night shifts as needed.
• Handle any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
