Product Technical Reviewer: Electro-Technical Certification (Re-Advert)

Purpose

To deliver value-adding certification services to the department and division through technical expertise and reviews that meet accreditation requirements, SANS/ISO standards, and SABS policies, processes, and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • National Diploma / Diploma in Engineering: Electrical (Heavy Current) (NQF Level 6)
  • SAATCA Registration is an advantage

Work Experience

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in a technical environment (Operational Level)
  • Essential knowledge of Product and/or Systems Certification protocols (Operational Level)

Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Management

  • Review sales applications from existing customers.
  • Check the planning, scheduling, and execution of audits to meet client and SABS needs.
  • Review audit reports based on the required scope of work.
  • Perform on-site peer reviews of auditors when needed.
  • Review submissions to accreditation bodies according to accreditation, ISO, and SABS requirements.
  • Provide technical support for quoting new clients and extending permits through technical reviews.
  • Assist the Sales Business Unit with technical expertise for clients as required.
  • Submit all relevant reports on time and within scope.
  • Contribute to developing and executing the Certification Systems Operational Plan (6-month view) to meet capacity needs for new and existing customers.
  • Offer subject matter expertise as a Technical Reviewer and member of the Certification Technical Committee (CTC).
  • Support the effective functioning of CTCs.

Risk and Compliance Management

  • Help identify and follow fraud controls, risk prevention principles, governance, and compliance processes to manage risks.
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory requirements by providing evidence.
  • Maintain quality risk management standards in line with regulations.
  • Enforce Service Level Agreements to reduce business risks and ensure continuity.
  • Follow all relevant laws, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures across the organization.
  • Provide technical expertise on certification schemes to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders for expectation management, knowledge sharing, integration, and reputation building.
  • Mentor, coach, and transfer skills to staff on systems and product certification schemes.
  • Represent the organization in committees and task teams when required.
  • Convene, chair, and attend meetings, and present performance and business information to stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure excellent customer service.
  • Resolve queries and problems within your scope and agreed time frames.
  • Follow up on unresolved queries and complaints.
  • Liaise with stakeholders on follow-up information for tender requests.
  • Provide subject-matter advocacy and expertise to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage internal and external relationships to implement certification audit best practices across the organization.
