Position: Product Technical Reviewer – Electro-technical Certification

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) is the national authority for maintaining quality standards and certification services, operating under the Standards Act (2008).

Key Details:

  • Required Qualification: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy/Light Current)
  • Experience Required: 3 years in technical environment
  • Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

Purpose of Role:

Deliver high-quality certification services through technical review and expertise while meeting SABS policies and international standards.

Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years’ technical experience
  • Knowledge of certification protocols and audit processes
  • Understanding of risk management principles
  • SAATCA registration (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Management:

  • Review client applications and audit reports
  • Conduct on-site auditor evaluations
  • Provide technical support for certification processes
  • Contribute to operational planning

Compliance Assurance:

  • Implement quality risk management standards
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintain service level agreements

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide technical mentorship to staff
  • Manage client relationships and queries
  • Represent SABS in technical committees
