Job Summary

Rand Water is seeking candidates to maintain good housekeeping in engine rooms, control rooms, battery rooms, toilets, and switchgear rooms. You will report unsafe acts, working conditions, or any abnormalities to your shift supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (N3 Certificate)
  • Blue Drop Requirements: Water Treatment Learnership is an advantage
  • 1 year of cleaning experience is an advantage
  • Communication and numeracy skills (desired)

Primary Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the plant
  • Clean assigned sections of the plant
  • Report unsafe conditions or acts
  • Assist the Process Controller in loading or unloading pumps
  • Open or close suction and delivery valves
  • Take water samples
  • Manually operate pipeline isolating valves
  • Unload chlorine drums
  • Unload ammonia
  • Related cleaning experience is an advantage

Knowledge

  • Exposure to water purification is an advantage
  • On-the-job training is provided
