Position Details

Location: Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal
Employment Type: Full-Time

Required Qualification: National Certificate & Trade Test Certification

Core Responsibilities

Equipment Management

• Execute preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production machinery
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system failures
• Monitor equipment performance and maintain operational logs

Production Support

• Optimize line efficiency through technical oversight
• Coordinate equipment changeovers and startup/shutdown procedures
• Collaborate with operations teams for continuous production flow

Quality & Safety Compliance

• Maintain product specifications through equipment calibration
• Enforce GMP, HACCP, and ISO quality protocols
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics
• National Diploma (NQF 4-6) in relevant engineering discipline
• Pneumatics/Hydraulics training (preferred)

Professional Experience

• 2+ years in FMCG production environments
• Proven expertise in automated packaging systems
• Experience with maintenance management systems

Key Competencies

• Strong technical troubleshooting capabilities
• Working knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems
• Shift flexibility and emergency response readiness
• Effective communication and documentation skills
