Principal Investigator – Competition Commission

Position Overview:

Join South Africa’s Competition Commission to lead complex investigations enforcing fair market practices. Full-time role based in Pretoria.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations into anti-competitive practices under Sections 4(1)(a) & 4(1)(b) of Competition Act
  • Manage corporate leniency program administration
  • Oversee case preparation from evidence collection to court proceedings
  • Develop investigation strategies and division business plans
  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings and witness statements

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification
  • 8+ years investigative experience (competition law preferred)
  • Proven leadership in managing complex cases

Key Competencies:

  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
