Portfolio Manager Assistant – Stellenbosch

What will you do?

  • Handle all client, intermediary, and third-party manager queries proactively and process their requests.
  • Work with the Portfolio Manager and clients to manage corporate actions.
  • Collaborate on private placements with the Portfolio Manager and clients.
  • Gather client payment information and documentation.
  • Collect share transfer information and documentation.
  • Gather cash journal information and documentation.
  • Prepare onboarding documents and check all mandates and FICA information for quality.
  • Screen new clients against sanction lists before onboarding.
  • Prepare and submit cash receipts.
  • Send clear and accurate instructions for all admin processes to the Central Admin Hub.
  • Manage trade allocations.
  • Prepare and submit score and monthly management fee reports.
  • Handle ad hoc administrative tasks.
  • Monitor safe custody fees on the BDA system.
  • Follow up on debit lists.
  • Track At Home positions.
  • Manage the Portfolio Manager’s diary.
  • Prepare information packs for meetings.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree.
  • Registered person exam (advantage, but not required).
  • Basic understanding of private client business and stock-broking environment.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is essential.
  • Experience in a stock-broking environment is essential.
  • Bonds and Safex exams (advantage).

Knowledge and skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of financial systems.
  • Working knowledge of BDA.
