Position Summary:
Coordinate public safety education programs to reduce fire-related risks and fatalities. Engage communities through strategic communication campaigns and emergency management training initiatives.
Basic Requirements:
- National Diploma in Fire Technology (NQF Level 6)
- Matric/Grade 12 certification
- 6 years operational experience (2 years in community education)
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Clean criminal record
Essential Certifications:
- NFPA 1001 Firefighter 1 & 2
- NFPA 472 Hazmat Operational
- First Aid Level III
- NFPA 10-35 Fire Educator 1 & 2
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop community safety programs aligned with regional risk assessments
- Manage public information distribution and accessibility
- Coordinate B.E.S.A.F.E training logistics and scheduling
- Lead emergency response communications during major incidents
- Promote EMS services through outreach initiatives
