Purpose of the Job

Medirite Plus Olivedale seeks a customer-focused, hardworking Pharmacy Sales Assistant to help run smooth retail operations. You should enjoy helping people and have strong customer service skills. Your role will include greeting customers, setting up displays, handling refunds, and suggesting products that meet their needs.

Job Objectives

  • Process payments and balance sales and receipts following company rules.
  • Learn about new products and keep your knowledge current.
  • Restock items and organize the sales floor as per standard procedures.
  • Check prices regularly to fix any errors.
  • Use the store’s Point of Sale (POS) system for customer payments.
  • Know products well to give advice and recommendations.
  • Stay informed about promotions and special offers.
  • Keep visual merchandising standards high.
  • Maintain clean and tidy housekeeping.
  • Handle customer questions quickly and refer to managers when needed.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Grade 12 qualification

Experience

Essential:

  • At least 5 months of point-of-sale or till experience in retail.
  • Proven sales experience in retail, including floor work and cashier duties.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of customer service basics.
  • Familiar with stock receiving and merchandising rules.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual, ideally fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Friendly and engaging personality.
  • Knowledge of payment methods like cash, cards, cheques, coupons, and vouchers.
  • Able to work in a busy environment.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
