Introduction
The role involves providing pharmaceutical care services within the scope of practice and handling day-to-day dispensary administration according to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The focus is on script administration and general dispensing duties, with an emphasis on patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers professionally and maintain strict confidentiality within SOPs and agreed timelines.
- Administer scripts and handle any claiming or capturing procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete handling of all patient profiles.
- Interact with healthcare professionals when needed.
- Solve problems and follow up on queries.
Duties
- Interact with customers via telephone or other means about medication and healthcare services.
- Accurately capture scripts received at the Central Pharmacy centre.
- Handle queries regarding prescriptions.
- Manage patient profiles.
- Assist with chronic authorizations.
- Liaise with other departments.
- Handle ad hoc tasks as per operational needs.
Knowledge
- Product knowledge, including over-the-counter (OTC) items.
- Knowledge of SAPC and relevant legal requirements.
- Sound understanding of chronic authorization processes and procedures.
