Requirements

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12, plus registration as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) for 2025.
  • Valid work permit required for non-South Africans.
  • Skills in patient consultations.
  • Knowledge of current health and public service laws, rules, and policies.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
  • Professional attitude, attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work independently, and ethical behavior.

Duties

  • Properly receive, record, and store all medicines and supplies following standard procedures.
  • Ensure safe use of medicines for patients, taking full responsibility.
  • Prepare and compound medicines as assigned.
  • Check prescriptions correctly, process them legally, and distribute medicines to clients.
  • Conduct stock checks and distribute supplies.
  • Promote public health initiatives.
  • Keep accurate records of statistics and meet administrative needs as required by policy.
