About Department of Defence

The South African Department of Defence comprises four military services (Army, Air Force, Navy, Military Health Service) and specialized divisions handling HR, finance, logistics, and information systems.

Employment Type: Full Time

Minimum Education: Matric (NQF Level 4)

Experience Required: 3-5 years in HR Management

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

Department: Human Resources

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years’ experience in human resource management
  • Working knowledge of PERSOL/PERSAL systems (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment processes and employee appointments
  • Develop career plans for Defence Intelligence personnel
  • Administer performance management systems (PMDS)
  • Oversee employee benefits and service conditions
  • Maintain accurate HR records and prepare statistical reports
  • Process employment terminations and transfers
