About Us:
Cape Union Mart, South Africa’s leading outdoor adventure retailer since 1933, is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our Gateway Mall team. We specialize in providing gear for hiking, camping, trail running, and outdoor exploration, empowering adventurers nationwide.
Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service through effective sales techniques.
- Manage stock control and minimize loss prevention.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales targets consistently.
- Process transactions accurately (cash, card, vouchers, and other payment methods).
- Maintain store presentation and visual merchandising standards.
- Resolve customer inquiries and escalate feedback to management.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
- 0–6 months retail experience
- Clear credit and criminal record
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends
Preferred Skills:
- 1+ years of retail experience
- Basic computer literacy
- Knowledge of outdoor lifestyle products (advantageous)

- Integrity and attention to detail
