Job Purpose
To manage multiple sites and staff, develop and implement building and infrastructure maintenance plans, and provide services. Offer business support and logistics to SARS business units to enable smooth operations.
Education and Experience
- B.Degree/Advanced Diploma/BTech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (NQF 7) and 5-7 years’ experience in Facilities Management or Built Environment, including 1 year at supervisory level.
Alternative Qualification
- Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 10 years’ experience in Facilities Management or Built Environment, including 1 year at supervisory level.

Process
- Watch for and report any violations of procedures or standards.
- Plan and coordinate logistics for assets between buildings or offices.
- Resolve queries and problems quickly, using guidelines, and escalate if needed.
- Plan improvements to practices and systems for better tactical implementation.
- Build productive relationships with peers, SARS teams, and external parties.
- Motivate staff to work efficiently and meet high standards.
- Report maintenance issues for buildings, premises, and equipment to the relevant manager.
- Direct facilities problems to the Property Department and support resolutions.
- Develop and implement a facilities management program, including preventative maintenance and lifecycle needs.
- Use knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems, and infrastructure like HVAC, fire protection, and lightning systems.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations, and local by-laws.
- Manage projects in Corporate Real Estate within your area.
- Handle issues and disputes related to landlord obligations.
- Manage outsourced service providers for cleaning, pest control, landscaping, and maintenance.
- Contribute to managing operational costs.
- Review and monitor contracted work to ensure it meets agreements and timelines.
- Develop and manage maintenance services, contracts, and lifecycle programs for buildings and infrastructure.
- Provide input on opportunities to optimize operations, processes, products, and risks.
- Make decisions and overcome obstacles to meet goals.
- Contribute to tactical strategy and implement operational strategies.
- Communicate objectives, prioritize tasks, and allocate work.
