Operational Ambulance Emergency Assistant – Limpopo (All Cities)

Main Purpose of the Job

To respond to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care within your scope of practice.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Ensure your ambulance and equipment are ready for emergency calls.
  • Provide patient care according to your training and guidelines.
  • Promote ER24 and maintain a positive image in the community.

Required Education

  • Essential: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care.
  • Desired: Training in Clinical Practice Guidelines from the Health Professions Council of South Africa. If you do not have this at the time of application, you must complete it during your probation period if hired.

Required Experience

  • Essential: 1 year of experience in emergency medical services (EMS).
  • Desired: 1 year of Intermediate Life Support (ILS) experience.

Required Job Skills and Knowledge

  • Follow best practices in emergency care.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of local facilities, travel routes, and areas.
  • Understand HPCSA guidelines and your scope of practice.
  • Complete patient report forms accurately.
  • Good English skills in speaking and writing.
