Operational Ambulance Emergency Assistant – Cape Town

Main Purpose of the Job
- Attend to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care within your scope of practice.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Ensure your ambulance and equipment are ready for emergency calls.
- Provide patient care according to your scope of practice.
- Promote ER24 and maintain a positive image with the public.
Required Education
- Essential: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care.
- Desired: Training on Clinical Practice Guidelines from the Health Professions Council of South Africa is a plus. If you do not have this at application, you must complete it during probation if hired.
Required Experience
- Essential: 1 year in emergency medical services.
- Desired: 1 year in Intermediate Life Support.
Required Job Skills and Knowledge
- Apply best practices in emergency care.
- Be computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office.
- Know local facilities, travel routes, and areas.
- Follow HPCSA guidelines and your scope of practice.
- Complete Patient Report Forms accurately.
- Be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
