Key Responsibilities
Legal Cost Management
- Process and prioritize legal cost files from receipt to final payment
- Assess both taxed and untaxed bills of costs
- Prepare settlement offers and negotiate terms
- Represent RAF at court taxations and appeals
- Approve payments within authorized limits
- Provide expert guidance to internal teams and external partners
Writs Management
- Validate writ documentation accuracy
- Calculate applicable interest charges
- Verify payment recipients and amounts
- Identify potential cost recovery opportunities
- Advise management on writ-related matters
Requirements
- NQF Level 7 qualification (Law degree preferred)
- 3 years’ experience in legal claims processing
- Strong understanding of legal cost structures
- Court procedure knowledge
